The Marital Basic Trust CRT is a Co-Grantor Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) designed for a married couple. It offers all of the same features and benefits available with the Marital Basic CRT (# 15).

It also provides a lifetime payout of trust income to the grantors (or other persons) during their joint lifetimes and to the survivor of them, and/or a term-of-years payout (not to exceed 20 years) to other income beneficiaries. After the surviving grantor’s decease, or at the end of the term of years payout (whichever is applicable), the remainder principal would be distributed outright to the charity(s) designated in the trust.
